I can't decide if this is a blessing or a curse, but I realized over the weekend that I can only be romantically attracted to someone who LOVES New York City.

Their ambivalence or negative feelings towards the city can only be a major turn off.

Today I was walking up Havemeyer St and I saw some elderly neighborhood guy sitting next to a table to trinkets he was selling.  He had a scrawled sign hanging up on a street pole next to him that said,

"I'm a Republican.
I am a decorated war veteran.
I'm voting for Obama and
I think you should too."

Tuesday I have an interview for a super scary and competitive (but basically exactly what I'm looking for) costume internship at Juilliard.  It's a year commitment, full-time, and paid (meagerly).  They only take 4 interns a year.  But there's also no way I could come out of something like that and not have some seriously amazing technical skills ( Read more... )

I just discovered that I live right across the street from a haunted church !

I just got off the phone with the editor of WG, The Williamsburg-Greenpoint News & Arts.  I'm going to write an article for their next issue about the Williamsburg dance scene, as a general overview.  I'm so looking forward to checking out all of these venues that I've been telling myself to check out for months, and just being able to give dancers ( Read more... )
